Conversion Gasket Sets
A conversion gasket set covers the gaskets and seals for a rebuild without the cylinder head gaskets. It is the right choice when head gaskets are bought separately or the heads are handled by a machine shop. Not sure which set you need? Read Full Gasket Set vs. Head Set vs. Conversion Set.

Notes by Engine
- 7.3 Powerstroke (1994–2003): Known for durability, and many are still working at very high mileage. Oil leaks at the valve covers, oil pan and front cover are common. On these engines, the valve cover gasket also carries an electrical connector for the injectors and glow plugs, so inspect the connections while you are there.
- 6.0 Powerstroke (2003–2010): The best known for head gasket trouble. Failures often start with a clogged oil cooler or a failed EGR cooler that leads to overheating and coolant loss. Diagnose and repair the coolers first. Head bolts can stretch under high cylinder pressure, so many technicians upgrade to head studs. Head gaskets for this engine come in different dowel sizes, so confirm the correct parts for your build date.
- 6.4 Powerstroke (2008–2010): Runs hot and works hard. Check the EGR coolers and the cooling system for leaks before closing the engine back up, and replace hardened hoses and seals you disturb.
- 6.7 Powerstroke (2011–2014): Generally strong, but high-mileage and hard-working trucks will eventually need a reseal of the valve covers, oil pan and front cover.
Common Signs You Need a Gasket Job
- Coolant loss or a pressurized coolant reservoir
- White smoke or a sweet coolant smell from the exhaust
- Overheating when towing
- External oil leaks around the valve covers, front cover or oil pan
Confirm the diagnosis before teardown. See Signs of a Blown Head Gasket.
What Eversealed™ Technology Brings to the Job
- Sealing designed for diesel cylinder pressure, matched to each engine.
- Set coverage so the gaskets and seals you disturb are replaced together.
- Consistent fit to reduce comebacks.
Installation Tips
- Check head and deck flatness, and have the heads checked for cracks if the engine overheated. See Cracked or Warped Cylinder Head?
- Prepare surfaces carefully. See Gasket Surface Preparation.
- Never reuse torque-to-yield head bolts. Follow the torque sequence exactly.
- Flush the cooling system and refill with the correct coolant after the repair.
